Conor McGregor vs Donald Cerrone: Irishman to Make Comeback With a Bang at UFC 246!
Irish fighter Conor McGregor isn’t short of modesty and it’s fair to say that the UFC legend is not low on confidence but it’s fair to say that the show that the cocky battler puts out there, is pretty much entirely justified.
There are not many worldwide who are not aware of the 31-year-old and that’s a testament to just how big a personality he has become across the entire sporting world and in January McGregor gets back in the octagon to relaunch a career that was temporarily halted by the defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov last October.
That defeat was only the second McGregor has suffered in UFC action since 2010 and you shouldn’t expect Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone to to make it a third loss of the last 10 years.
The pair go toe-to-toe in Las Vegas on Saturday the 18th of January and is sure to have a large audience, both at the T-Mobile Arena and at home, and the betting market will be similarly busy.
UFC 246 plays host to what promises to be an explosive encounter with 36-year-old Cerrone looking to make up for his back-to-back defeats against Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson in June and September.
There’s plenty of bad blood between the two with talk of a potential showdown between the paid dating back to January 2015 when Cerrone remarked;
“Sure, (I’ll fight him),” Cerrone said. “Conor won’t be able to talk (expletive) to me, though. He won’t be able to do that (Dustin) Poirier stuff because I’ll (expletive) him up whenever I see him. Because that don’t fly with me. I don’t play that game. He’s a good dude. I get along with him just fine.”
McGregor is the big favorite with the US sportsbooks and it would take a brave punter to back Cerrone and a win for the Dubliner by KO/TKO is where the safe money can be found.
