Cristiano Ronaldo Pledges His Future to Juventus Amid Real Madrid Return Gossip

Cristiano Ronaldo will not be leaving Juventus any time soon despite talk of a possible move back to Real Madrid, with Italian sources claiming that the 35-year-old will see out his current four-year deal in Turin.

The Portuguese international’s current deal comes to a close in 2022 and it’s clear that he still has a great deal to offer even at this tail-end of his glorious career.

Ronaldo bagged 28 goals in his first season in Italy, playing his part in a Serie A title win, and in the current campaign he had already racked up 25 goals in 32 appearances before the campaign was halted due to the coronavirus outbreak.

With the Italian league said to be on course to restart in the coming weeks Ronaldo is ready to return to training at Juventus. He is currently keeping himself in shape in Madeira and is no doubt itching to get back to action.

Juventus sit top of Serie A, just one point ahead of Lazio and nine clear of Inter Milan, with eight games still to play.

If or when the soccer season does get back underway Juventus will also look to get past Lyon the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie, the Italian side trailing to Lyon by a single goal.

Juventus spent $123m to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Italy and it’s a move that has proven a success for the former Manchester United man though one imagines that the Old Lady of Italian football do expect to secure a Champions League trophy after 24 years without winning the showpiece tournament.
