Expect Juventus Reunion for Man United star Paul Pogba This Summer
If transfer reports are to be believed, and they rarely are sadly, then it looks entirely plausible that Manchester United’s troubled midfielder Paul Pogba is set to make a surprise return to Italian giants Juventus this summer.
The 26-year-old World Cup winner has sat out most of the current campaign with various injuries and illnesses that many believe are just paving the way for an Old Trafford exit, with the Premier League side having given up on getting anything meaningful out of a player way below his best.
Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer offloaded two big-earning players last summer, with Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez leaving for Inter Milan, albeit the Chilean only on a loan deal. Offloading Pogba would also rid the club of another massive wage from the balance sheet and would help make way for world-class replacements.
United effectively replaced Pogba with Bruno Fernandez, the Portuguese international signing this month in a deal that could top $90m, and that has led many to believe that Pogba’s time at the club, his second spell, is all but over.
Juventus has done some spring cleaning of their own with big-earners Mario Mandzukic and Emre Can leaving for Al-Duhail and Borussia Dortmund respectively.
Pogba’s best years came in his previous spell at Juventus, where he helped the Old Lady of Italian football to the Serie A title in each of his four seasons and there is every chance that he would recapture his form back in Turin but one imagines that Man United chief executive will want a fee in the region of the $117m they paid for the player in the summer of 2016.
Basically this is a deal that is very overdue and when it comes to soccer betting this is a solid wager, a Pogba departure is very likely when the current season is over and there are only a handful of teams with the pulling power to pull off the move, Juventus leading the chase without a doubt.
