F1 2020 Betting Odds: Lewis Hamilton the Big Favorite, So Who Should You Back?
The F1 season is now just a few weeks away and it’s therefore time to consider your betting options when it comes to backing a winner in the futures market.
The first race of the campaign takes place in Melbourne in March and it’s no surprise that British driver Lewis Hamilton is the strong favorite, the Mercedes driver having won the World Championship in each of the past three seasons.
Those looking to prevent Hamilton from clinching what would be the 35-year-old’s seven title include his team-mate Valtteri Bottas and Ferrari pair Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel, himself a four-time World Champion, but in most circles it’s considered Hamilton’s title to lose, such is the quality of the driver.
F1 Drivers Championship Betting from MyBookie:
Lewis Hamilton -175
Charles Leclerc +450
Valtteri Bottas +550
Max Verstappen +550
Sebastian Vettel +700
This season sees the introduction of two new venues, in Vietnam and the Netherlands, while the Chinese GP has been moved due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
Hamilton’s domination is hard to look past but the odds you can get on the all-conquering driver are just not that interesting when it comes to a punter looking to win a decent sum of money.
Therefore a clever wager on Vettel may be the way to go. The Ferrari driver has the experience to perhaps trouble Hamilton and if his car holds up then the odds on the German are enticing enough to back the 32-year-old, though it’s worth noting that his four previous titles were all won in a Red Bull car, and not a Ferrari.
