The Super Bowl is now very much on the horizon and now that the postseason picture has simplified following the NFL Wildcard matches, the betting lines for the showpiece encounter are getting clearer.

Tom Brady’s New England Patriots lost out to the Tennessee Titans, the Houston Texans saw off the Buffalo Bills in overtime, the Minnesota Vikings did likewise to the New Orleans Saints and the Seahawks eased past the Philadelphia Eagles, leaving us with the full roundup for the Divisional playoffs.

The Baltimore Ravens continue to lead the field, not surprising given that they don’t now have to face off perennial big boys the New England Patriots, and in the NFC it’s still all about the 49ers, who are nicely priced at +325.

Those of you looking for a nice outsider to back in the Super Bowl betting would do well to consider a solid wager on the Green Bay Packers to pull off something of an upset.

Under a new coach, Matt LaFleur, the Packers finished the regular season with a good 13-3 record and should have too much about them to defeat the Seahawks on home soil and once they get a head of steam up they could go all the way for their first Super Bowl success since 2010.
