Lebron James Doesn’t Like The Idea Of Cancelling NBA Season

As talk of bringing ongoing sports leagues across the world to a complete halt starts to circulate it appears that LA Lakers star Lebron James isn’t happy about the possibility of such a move being adopted by the NBA.

The three-time NBA Championship winner was responding to speculation that agents and managers had discussed the possibility of canceling the 2019-20 season, an eventuality that has indeed been the subject of a great deal of media discussion.

On such a possibility James stated via a Tweet;

“Saw some reports about agents and executives wanting to cancel the season? Nobody I know is saying anything like that. As soon as it’s safe we would like to finish our season. I’m ready and our team is ready. Nobody should be canceling anything”

The NBA season screeched to a halt on March 11th and there are still around 18 matches to be completed by most sides in the regular season.

The league was projected to return to action on May 1st but clearly that restart date has been and gone and the coronavirus situation is still a very serious one across the United States and the chances of a restart any time soon seem minimal and in all likelihood any restart would entail matches in empty arenas, if at all.

Lebron James will be no doubt keen to continue the season due to the superb run of form his LA Lakers were in before the season was suspended.

They have a 49-14 record this season and remain the favorites to win the Championship, narrowly ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks who’s superior record of 53-12 is down in no small part to the amazing displays put in by Giannis Antetokounmpo.
