Manchester City Offer Stars New Massive Contracts to Prevent Exodus

Etihad Stadium side Manchester City are looking to avoid losing their top stars in the wake of a likely Champions League ban according to a multitude of sources.

The Premier League’s reigning champions are keen to keep England forward Raheem Sterling and Belgian international Kevin De Bruyne tied to new long-term deals with both likely to see their salaries push over $400k a week.

Manchester City were hit with a two year ban from European competitions due to their many infractions of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) guidelines and though the mega-rich club have appealed the ban they clearly fear they may lose out, hence the need to offer better deals to their top performers.

Pep Guardiola helped his side to a Carabao Cup trophy last weekend, when they beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Wembley, but the Spaniard will almost certainly see his side lose the Premier League crown to rampant Liverpool, so all in all things aren’t looking rosy for Manchester City.

UEFA Champions League Betting Odds from Intertops Sportsbook

Manchester City +275

Bayern Munich +350

Liverpool +650

Barcelona +700

PSG +900

However they will be happy with the Champions League efforts at present, Man City having won the first leg of their big encounter with Real Madrid 2-1 at the Bernabeu and are one of the favorites to win the showpiece trophy, a title the club have never won before.

Sterling is known to be of interest to Real Madrid and the former Liverpool man could perhaps be considering his options given the ban and the likely loss of their domestic crown and the La Liga side could well do with improving their attacking options this summer.
