Manchester United Closing In On $43m Deal to Sign Real Madrid Star
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to complete the signing of Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez according to multiple sources.
The 28-year-old moved to the Bernabeu in 2014 from Monaco and though he initially impressed the attacking midfielder has struggled to make a long term impact in the Spanish capital and spent two seasons out on loan at Bundesliga side Bayern Munich before returning to Real Madrid ahead of the current campaign.
Man United could well do with some guile in the final third and Rodriguez could well benefit from a fresh challenge having made just seven La Liga appearances for Real Madrid this season.
It is believed the deal would cost around $43m which is a small fee to pay in the current transfer market and could turn out to be a real coup if Rodriguez can deliver to his obvious potential.
There is also speculation that under fire United star Paul Pogba could well be leaving in the summer and some believe that a move to join Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid could be a possibility and as such there could be a part exchange in the works.
By all accounts Man United came close to signing James Rodriguez back in 2017 and may well be set to finally complete a deal to bring in the South American.
Rodriguez has played 124 times for Real Madrid, scoring 37 goals, and has won a La Liga titles and the Champions League on two occasions.
