Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield Set For Amazing Third Fight

Evander Holyfield has challenged Mike Tyson to a third fight in what would undoubtedly be the biggest boxing encounter for many years.

There is no love lost between the pair, who fought back in 1996 and 1997, the second fight being well remembered as the clash that saw Tyson bite off a chunk of Holyfield’s ear in an ugly spectacle at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Tyson, now 53, has hinted at a return to the ring in a series of instagram videos which have shown the former World Heavyweight champion is still in excellent condition, some 15 years since his last professional bout.

Holyfield, who is 57, is keen to get back in the ring with Tyson and there has been talk of a number of four-round fights that would be used to help raise money for charity.

On the subject of a possible return to the ring to meet his old foe, who he beat on two occasions, Holyfield has stated;

‘I would think so. You know life is about two people really trusting each other and what can we do now. There is a lot of things Mike and I have done together that works.

The idea of such a fight taking place, even if it were in an exhibition setting, would certainly lead to an astonishing amount of betting action. There has been a big rise in all kinds of fight betting in recent years with the likes of traditional boxing encounters, and especially within the UFC, leading to huge sums of money being bet on such clashes.

In recent years fights there have been stellar spectacles which have encouraged a big bump in sports betting with the fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr, as an example, leading to huge interest even from those with little previous interest in boxing or any such similar contact sports.
