Super Bowl 2020: Kansas City Chiefs Complete Glorious Comeback Win Over San Francisco 49ers
Kansas City Chiefs stormed back from 20-10 down to defeat the San Francisco 49ers in a fourth-quarter win to pick up their first Super Bowl triumph in 50 years.
Led by key man, Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs overcame an average start as last year’s MVP found two superb throws on third down to help his side to victory in Miami.
Mahomes, who only threw five interceptions throughout the entire regular season, managed to throw two in back-to-back drives as the 49ers put the pressure on the slight favorites.
A cagey first half ended 10 points a piece and at that stage it didn’t seem the fans present were in for a memorable occasion, though the half-time show pairing of J-Lo and Shakira definitely got the supporters in the stadium, and watching at home, into the right mood.
The 49ers scored ten unanswered points in the third quarter and looked set to complete their first Super Bowl victory since 1994 but Mahomes, and Kansas, had over ideas.
21 points in the fourth saw the Chiefs romp home and Mahomes, with 286 yards, was without doubt delivering on the promise he has shown all season. He threw two touchdown passes and rushed one TD of his own and he worked superbly well with Damien Williams especially, the running back collecting two TDs.
