The Match: Tiger Woods & Peyton Manning Win Charity Event and Raise $20m for COVID-19 Relief

Though the rain threatened to ruin the occasion four sporting greats combined to secure a massive sum for the COVID-19 relief fund as the pairing of Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning ran out winners at The Match event in South Florida.

The sporting event, which was broadcast live, saw Golfing legend Tiger Woods and NFL star Peyton Manning overcome Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady by one stroke, at the Medalist Golf Club.

The event was livened up by some awesome trash talking from commentators Charles Barkley and Justin Thomas, and the occasion proved a massive success both on and off the golf course.

Though the event was for a charitable cause there was no doubting that everyone taking part took it seriously;

“Phil said he was nervous, so imagine us,” said Manning, the retired Super Bowl winner “To go behind the ropes and get in these guys’ world and in the arena with them was really an incredible experience.

“I was not comfortable the whole time, but raising $20 million as people are going through such tough times, it’s something I’ll always remember and cherish.”

This event acted as something of a sequel to the 2018 event which saw Mickleson won in Las Vegas and offered Tiger Wood some measure or revenge over his long-term golfing rival.

Throughout the event celebrities, and other sporting idols, made pledges to sweeten the charity pot, offering additional sums as the foursome went about their business on the fairways and greens.
