The Top 5 NFL Draft Prospects Ahead Of The 2020 NFL Draft

The 2020 NFL draft class is shaping up to be of the best in recent memory. This excitement has shown amongst NFL betting sites, as wagers on predictions for next year’s top picks have already gone through the roof. Let’s take a look at some of those top players below. Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon – While other quarterbacks may get more media hype, Justin Herbert is the quarterback that has NFL scouts salivating at the mouth. In fact, had Herbert declared for the 2019 Draft it’s likely that he, not Kyler Murray, would have been the top QB on the majority of NFL boards. Herbert possesses all the key traits needed to be a top overall pick. His size and athleticism are on par with that of Buffalo Bills’ QB Josh Allen, yet his accuracy is leaps and bounds above where Allen’s sits today. Herbert will need to show growth as a leader and in his consistency on the field this season. Nit picking aside, Herbert is your current favorite for the first overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama – While Herbert may be tucked away in the North Pacific with little publicity, the QB known simply as Tua is arguably the face of college football. Tua may be on the shorter side (listed at 6’1) but he makes up for it with touch and anticipation as a passer. The stocky 230 lb. signal caller is your current Heisman Trophy favorite prior to the 2019 CFB season, and if all goes right this year he has an opportunity to go down as the best quarterback in Alabama history before he takes his talents to the pros.Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama – Part of what makes Tua so good is the cast of phenomenal playmakers around him, most notably Jerry Jeudy. Jeudy sits atop most draft big boards as he we head into the football season, and rightfully so. Jeudy’s athleticism and playmaking ability is fairly reminiscent to that of Odell Beckham’s. His attention to detail and route running skills could help grade him out on par with the likes of AJ Green and Julio Jones as one of the best receiver prospects of all time. Grant Delpit, S, LSU – With the league constantly evolving, versatile playmakers at the safety position have become a must for success. Players like Derwin James and former LSU Tiger Jamal Adams have excelled in this position. Grant Delpit is next up to bat. Delpit’s ability to line up all over the field, from deep safety, to slot corner, to even linebacker, while constantly impacting the game in a positive way will make him a draft crash amongst evaluators. Chase Young, EDGE, Ohio St. – Ohio State has become somewhat of a defensive line U of late with the likes of Joey Bosa, Sam Hubbard, and most recently Nick Bosa. Chase Young has the chance to beat them all. Young’s get off speed and ability to bend on the edge is unparalleled to anything that has come out of Columbus in quite some time. Young is the favorite amongst many to be the first player off the board come next April.
