Birthday Boy Lebron James Sets Sights On All-Time NBA Scoring Record

NBA superstar Lebron James has just turned 35 and is clearly as hungry as ever, with the LA Lakers man looking to push on into a brand new era of dominance.

James sits on 33,347 career points, closing in on Kobe Bryant and likely to move into third all-time point scorer in the process, but he is looking to hit the summit in the coming years and that means outscoring legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who ended his glittering career on an astounding 38,387.

Abdul-Jabbar played all the way up until the age of 41 and should James continue for another six years then it’s very likely, on current form, that he’ll have overcome that mammoth total and set a whole new NBA bar.

LeBron James has already set an awesome record of his own when on Sunday he became the first player in NBA history to rack up 30,000 points, 9,000 rebounds and 9,000 assists, showing just how much of an all-round player he is.

When it comes to the NBA betting the old-timer is still very much in the race for the 2019-20 NBA MVP award though he’ll need to push on with this efforts if he is to triumph in that particular race.

LeBron is currently placed at +800 according to the BetOnline Odds though that is some way behind hot favorite Giannis Antetokounmpo and the hugely impressive Luka Doncic, not to mention a certain James Harden.

That said, there are some who feel that LeBron is a good ‘sleeper’ bet and to be honest it would take a fool to rule out The Akron Hammer from upping his game and pulling it off and the Lakers are nicely placed top of the Western Conference with a season leading record of 26-7 at present and James leads the way when it comes to Assists per game so expect more to come before the season is out.
