Conor McGregor Vs Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone Odds and Bets: UFC 246
It’s been a long time coming but the UFC’s premier draw, Conor McGregor, is set to get back in the Octagon in what promises to be an entertaining but bruising event this weekend.
The 31-year-old Irishman last took part in a UFC bout back in October 2018, when he lost out to Khabib Nurmagomedov and his last win was way back in November 2017 but the Dubliner is still the favorite for this clash at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Bet Now have McGregor at -310 to win against Cerrone, and those odds seem a tad too favorable given how long Conor has been out of the game, and indeed the manner of his last encounter in the UFC.
McGregor has a strong 21-4 record in the UFC action and his opponent’s record of 36-13-1 shows just how long the ‘Cowboy’ has been part of the action in the MMA’s showpiece division, and should therefore not be overlooked as a possible victor.
Denver born Cerrone, now 36 years of age, won his first bout all the way back in 2006 and had a great 17-3 record up to October 2011 but has been very much hit and miss since then.
His two fights in 2019 ended in defeat so it would prove a major upset if he did overcome the odds.
Other interesting UFC bets to consider for the fight relate to how quickly McGregor can win, such around +175 on him winning in the first round, which could happen if he is really up for the task.
McGregor is very much the UFC’s main man and in some ways the success of the Irishman reflects the way the sport as a whole has grown in recent years. A win for Conor in UFC 246 could lead a step closer to a rematch with Nurmagomedov, which would surely be the biggest fight of the year if it were to come to fruition.
