Inter Milan Striker Opens Door to Barcelona Transfer
In-form Inter Milan attacker Lautaro Martinez is firmly on the wanted list of most of Europe’s elite but according to many reports the 22-year-old would only consider a move away from the San Siro if the switch was to La Liga giants Barcelona.
Martinez has scored 11 goals in 22 appearances in Italy’s top tier this season, helping Antonio Conte’s side to mount a genuine title challenge and no doubt the former Chelsea manager would not want to see the youngster leave any time soon.
No doubt a move to Barcelona interests Martinez in part due to the fact that his national team colleague, Lionel Messi, would be on hand to teach the cultured forward the tricks of the trade at the Nou Camp.
Inter Milan value Martinez at in excess of $120m and such a fee could well be out of the reach of a Barcelona side looking to ease up on spending having forked out massive sums to bring in the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann in recent transfer windows.
Some suggest that Barcelona would seek to use the likes of Nelson Semedo and Arturo Vidal as possible makeweights in any transfer, in order to keep the costs of any potential transfer down as much as possible.
Football in both Italy and Spain is said to be likely in the next month and now would be a good time to check out the best Serie A football odds and La Liga betting lines.
Barcelona sit top of La Liga but are very closely tracked by arch-rivals Real Madrid, who are just two points back from the Catalan side. In Italy it’s a similar picture, with perennial favorites Juventus being just a point point clear of Lazio with Inter Milan a further eight points back, albeit with a game in hand.
