NBA Restart Date Provisionally Set for July 31st

The NBA season came to an abrupt halt, like pretty much the entire world’s sporting calendar, on March 11th due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Now it appears that the NBA season is nearing a restart that has been penciled for July 31st.

The season will restart with 22 teams and the finals are set to occur no later than October 12th and the remaining games of the season are set to take place at Disney World resort in Florida where all teams will be housed for the rest of the season.

The teams involved will be as follows

Eastern Conference

  • Milwaukee Bucks
  • Toronto Raptors
  • Boston Celtics
  • Miami Heat
  • Indiana Pacers
  • Philadelphia 76ers
  • Brooklyn Nets
  • Orlando Magic
  • Washington Wizards

Western Conference

  • Los Angeles Lakers
  • LA Clippers
  • Denver Nuggets
  • Utah Jazz
  • Oklahoma City Thunder
  • Houston Rockets
  • Dallas Mavericks
  • Memphis Grizzlies
  • Portland Trail Blazers
  • New Orleans Pelicans
  • Sacramento Kings
  • San Antonio Spurs
  • Phoenix Suns

These teams have been selected due to the rankings as they were when the season was suspended and all teams will play out the eight remaining games of the regular season before the playoffs take place.

The use of a single site complex for all games is clearly a good way of halting the potential spread of the coronavirus.

The current NBA odds , as provided by MyBookie, are as follows.

Los Angeles Lakers +200

Milwaukee Bucks +275

Los Angeles Clippers +300

Boston Celtics +1200

Toronto Raptors +1400

Houston Rockets +1500

The following 2020-21 season is set to start on December 1st, hence the need to complete the current season with enough time for a rest period between the campaigns.
